La Joya, TX - La Joya ISD proudly celebrated outstanding educators during its annual Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) Big Check Celebration, an exciting evening dedicated to recognizing teachers who earned designations through the State of Texas Teacher Incentive Allotment program.

Held Thursday, May 21, at the Alejandro “Alex” H. Saenz Performing Arts Center, the event brought together educators, district leaders, families, and community members to honor the dedication, impact, and instructional excellence demonstrated by La Joya ISD teachers across the district.

Throughout the celebration, educators learned their official TIA designation levels and were recognized with ceremonial “big checks” highlighting their earned incentive awards. The evening served as both a celebration of achievement and a reflection of the district’s ongoing commitment to supporting and retaining exceptional educators.

Established by the State of Texas, the Teacher Incentive Allotment program was designed to reward highly effective teachers while helping districts recruit and retain top instructional talent. Through the program, educators can earn Recognized, Exemplary, or Master Teacher designations based on student growth and instructional performance measures.

“This celebration was about recognizing the extraordinary work our teachers do every single day,” said Dr. Derek Little, Chief of Academics & School Leadership for La Joya ISD. “Our educators continue to make a lasting impact in the lives of students through their passion, dedication, and commitment to excellence. Seeing them celebrated in this way was incredibly meaningful and well deserved.”

The event also highlighted La Joya ISD’s continued focus on strengthening high-quality instruction and investing in educators who help drive student success across the district
