Posted Date: 01/30/2018
Sam Fordyce Elementary students and staff took part in the week long activities celebrating Red Ribbon Week campaign. As part of the week’s activities, students enjoyed presentations by the La Joya ISD Crime Stoppers, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and U. S. Customs. The students learned about Mr. Enrique “Kiki” Camarena and how the Red Ribbon Week Campaign came to be. They learned how DEA and U. S. Customs are always looking out for drugs so that they can help keep our communities safe and drug-free. They work hard to make America a Drug-Free Nation. Students wore red ribbon and made a pledge to live a drug-free life. Students also had the opportunity to participate in the campus and district Drug-Free poster contest.
